Born from a passion to create space for healing, our products are crafted with purpose—to calm the mind, nourish the body, and support emotional well-being.
What “Shashamali” Means
The name “Shashamali” carries deep meaning, woven from several cultural and linguistic roots:
- Shasha relates to nobility and resilience in Swahili, and delight or joy in Hebrew.
- Mali symbolizes wealth or resources in Swahili, gardener in Hindi, and also connects to the country of Mali—known for its rich natural abundance.
Together, Shashamali reflects a sense of power and well-being—a name that embodies strength, healing, and the nurturing energy we hope every woman feels when using our products.
Rooted in Care
Our collections blend natural ingredients, comforting rituals, and a grounded sense of self-care. Whether you're sipping calming tea, lighting an aromatherapy candle, or using nourishing oils, we want each experience to feel intentional, supportive, and restorative.
Welcome to Shashamali Wellness. We’re so glad you’re here.
Meet Michelle

Hi, I'm Michelle Hartley.
First let me start by saying thank you for visiting my website!
As I approached midlife, I began experiencing hormonal changes that were, honestly, a lot harder than I expected - night sweats, hot flashes, the kind of symptoms that make you feel like you don't recognize your own body anymore. I started looking for natural ways to manage what I was going through, since I grew up in a family that valued and practiced herbal wellness, and it was always part of how I took care of myself.
That search led me to a wonderful herbalist, whose knowledge and care went into creating the tinctures and teas you see on this site. I worked closely with her to bring these products to life, and I use them myself every day.
I have a master's degree in community health education from Brooklyn College and a certificate in health and wellness coaching from Emory University. So beyond my own experience, I bring real training in supporting women's health through this stage of life.
My hope is that these products help you the way they've helped me.
Be Well,
Michelle.
